My youth, took me all over the country. Is it hard changing schools all the time? Yes - but it made me a much more social person!
My career started in Kansas City working with the Kansas City Convention & Visitors Bureau. Most cities have a destination marketing team supported by the bed tax primarily. From there to Atlanta , then to New Orleans for 30 years. I rose from a sales manager to my departure as Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Services. It was the best job ever - selling/promoting New Orleans as a meetings and convention destination - a team of 30+ individuals located in New Orleans, Chicago, New York and Washington DC. But - I found my ultimate dream - to own a B&B on the beach. I resigned, and bought the Bay Town Inn in early 2003. In 2005, however, a major storm took it all away.
Luckily - my old job re-opened and I returned to New Orleans. I fell in love, got married, and received a grant to re-build the Inn. Sadly, my husband was diagnosed with cancer and passed away five months before we re-opened the Inn in 2013.
The Inn was my life - I loved it all - the great customers who became friends, the fun decorating for every holiday, making weekend breakfasts, and building beautiful gardens. However - in early 2022 I decided it was time for "me". I sold the Inn, purchased a wonderful home in the Bay and ultimately decided selling real estate would be a great next career. How great - promote the Bay, and the entire coast. Help people find the perfect home in a place that I love and never plan to leave.
So here I am! Career number three and loving it!
